Hi Jo,

What time period are you lookng for?

There are no Wands listed in the pre-1855 MI Books anywhere in Stirling.

If it's more up to date records, here's the address for Stirling Council's Cemetery Records Office:

Tel 01786 442559
Fax 01786 442558
E-mail: cemeteries[at][/blue]stirling.gov.uk (Replace [at] with @)

I've come across a few Wands headstones in Denny Cemetery . . . .

WANDS, Agnes (Clark), died 21.09.1952, aged 74
WANDS, Alexander, died 20.10.1943, aged 61
WANDS, Elizabeth, died 06.04.1972
WANDS, Ellen M. (nee Rennie), died 12.07.1964, aged 76
WANDS, Isabella, did 08.12.1948, aged 58
WANDS, Isabella W.   , died 30.10.1934, aged 76
WANDS, John, died 21.08.1946, aged 61
WANDS, John S., died 16.06.1956, aged 67
WANDS, Lilias (nee White), died 28.01.1951, aged 61
WANDS, Mary Wilson, died 23.03.1974 aged 91
WANDS, William, died 08.02.1895, aged 45
WANDS, William, died 23.04.1917, aged 29 (WW1)

This is purely an 'index' and there are 4 stones in total. If any of the above are of interest to you, I have the full inscriptons and photos of the stones.

Anne

Hi Anne,
Thankyou so very much for your efforts, very much appreciated.

One that I am interested in is a Isabella Wands died 28 May 1858. she was buried in St Ninians Burial Place.
She was 68yrs, and Married to John Wands, weaver.
They were living at Torbrex......
Her father was William Young and mother was Margaret Mc Cook. both deceased..
the reason mainly for this search is  because I am unable to find John's death....He was still alive when his wife died but I don't think he was about in the 1861c....
I have been told by his GGG grand daughter that there are headstones of her ancestors.......Wands in Sterling......but I am unable to speak to her at this time....

Maybe I will contact the number you have posted......
Thankyou so much Anne.
regards,
Joanne.             :D :D
