Help Please with IGI records

I need help please with an IGI record from the LDS site. 
I have found what I believe to be a family marriage entry on the LDS site in the IGI section but as the marriage is not on the Glamorgan register I need to know how accurate the IGI can be.
How do I verify an entry that is pre 1837?

If any one can help I would appreciate it.

When you click on the IGI entry and go into the record if you scroll down to look at the bottom of the record it should say "extracted" record in which case it is taken from the parish register or " member submitted" which means an LDS member has put it in.  In the latter case it may be a wild guess.  At the very least you are relying on research done by somebody else which may not be accurate.
You have to verify the record by looking at the original parish register - if you have done that and it is not there then I should be wary!
