 Hi all
  Could any body tell me if  the census  spelling of a surname is the same on a death  certificate .
 I am trying to find Jane Wilkinson but on the 1901 census its spelt as wilkenson.Any help would be great

Hi Steve,
census spellings are often out- phonetic spellings and all kinds of variations. I suppose for all sorts of reasons too- illiteracy/ poor spelling of recorder etc.  I wouldn't worry too much as long as you have other evidence to prove who it is.
