Hi Everyone

I am new to Rootschat but I am undertaking a One-Name Study of the Twelftree/Twelvetree(s) surname.  The spelling was interchangeable until the end of the 19th Century.  My maternal grandmother was a Twelftree from Bythorn in Huntingdonshire. 

I am convinced that all people in the world with these surnames will eventually be traced back to just three males recorded in the mid-1600's; two in Huntingdonshire and one in Northamptonshire.

They were an adventurous lot as I have made contact with descendants in America, New Zealand and Australia in particular and have managed to gather quite extensive information.

I am would love to hear from anyone researching these surnames.

Hi Carol,
I am new at this but my Great grandmother was Isabella Twelftree living in Otago, South Island, New Zealand.
There was 8 girls and 4 boys.
I am sure Marlene and Lynley will reply to you, as they are distant rellies.

Hi everyone

Funnily enough I had just contacted Carol re. Twelftrees, independently of this forum, then I saw this latest post.

Robyn and I share the same GG Grandfather- Robert Barnes Twelftree born in London in 1828 - he came to NZ in 1850.
