Llansamlet
« on: Tuesday 17 October 06 12:01 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have a link to the Llansamlet Historical Society or any knowledge of the Calland Mines there in the 1800s. I'm off over half-term to view the Calland collection in the West Glamorgan archives but want to do as much research as possible in advance as time will be short.

Many thanks

Brigcs

See the book 'Copperopolis' by the Royal Commission on Ancient and Historical Monuments in Wales - WGAS should have a copy. There are several references to Callands.

If no joy let me know and I'll copy what I can.

Thanks Bernard,

I've looked the publication up and have printed off the details so I'll know what I'm looking for.

Best wishes

A pleasure. Super book isn't it - and reasonably priced for its size too.
