Yes this seems to be the same family but still having difficulty in tracing them after 1871.

I can find George (junior) in  the 1901 census married to Eleanor with son Arthur still living at Annesley.
 thank you
Teresa

there are some possibilities for dad going off age and Eaton as birthplace:

1851 HO107; Piece: 2122; Folio: 308; Page: 24

Hodsock
George Knight 37 yrs gamekeeper b Eaton
Sarah Knight 36 yrs b Gringley

1861- none
1871 as above
1891 RG12; Piece: 2658; Folio 22; Page 38
Annesley Park (can't decipher rest)
George Knight 78 yrs gardener domestic b Eaton
Elizabeth 77 yrs b Watnall (?)
1881 George and Elizabeth are in Annesley- they are indexed as Kedglet!
It looks like him - being married 3 times though.

Thank you Heywood I am so pleased that this may be Arthur's family in 1891.

Interesing regarding George (senior) ? three marriages and being a gamekeeper. Lots of leads to follow.
Thank you everyone.

This implies so much more! I had wondered last night if Eleanor/ Ellen would have been married before because of her alleged age but this indicates that George was.
I did intend to look more last evening but it got too late. Arthur's age is out too from what you originally wrote - 10 yrs in 1891, I had presumed that that was just an error in transcript.
There is one death for a Sarah Jane Knight in 3rd quarter 1882- before George's baptism. Her year of birth was 1854.
There is also a George's death in 1882- year of birth 1882.
Also a couple of possible marriages with Ellens - one being later in 1882 but you perhaps need a bit more evidence.
well you have a lot more to search.
best wishes
heywood

Hello....

Heywood hope you are still on?
Re the info I posted earlier....would you do me a favour and check this out please, to make sure I am not going mad!

The last baptism had the address of 157 Annesley which I had forgotten to add  ::)

But check this on the 1881 RG11/3320/30  and bearing in mind the marriage details for George and Sarah Jane......what do you make of it?.....Sykes?  ??? puzzled now.

Sheila

ps
I did check the 1881 on FamilySearch and Ancestry and both indexed as Sykes and have to admit that it seems to say Sykes, but together with childrens names and the address plus the fact the brother in law is called Stewart has me puzzled.
