Yorkshireman or lancastrian?
« on: Wednesday 18 October 06 16:09 BST (UK) »
I am looking for a Joseph Gibson. His daughter`s wedding cert. 1873 shows a middle name, Richard. His Mother Sarah ????? was born in Leeds c. 1800
I do know that Sarah  Gibson born Leeds C. 1800 wed  Thomas Mason 29/10/1835 in Manchester.
Joseph Gibson`s daughter Sarah Jane was living with Sarah mason her g.mother when she married.

Gibson?  Sarah , did she marry a Gibson and later widowed or was Joseph her illegitimate child?

Any information will be greatly appreciated
  Thank you

Hi,

You've probably seen this, but there's a baptism at Leeds Parish Church on about 1st July 1818 (why it's 'about' I'm not quite sure as it seems to be an extracted record) of Joseph Gibson, son of Joseph and Sarah Gibson. Could that be your man? If so, he wasn't illegitimate, by the look of it, and Sarah must have been widowed at some point. Can't see an obvious marraige for Joseph and Sarah though.

Sorry not to be more help,

Redshank,

I had no Idea of this as my Joseph is proving very illusive. I will look for a death of  joseph snr.
thank you
