Bettinson & Brockton Families

Hello from New Zealand.

My g-g-g-g-grandparents were:

Joseph Bettinson b Flintham 1745, d Flintham 30/3/1816 and
Ann Brockton b 1757 d Flintham 1838

Married Elston Chapel 16/12/1782

Joseph's parents were:

Joseph Bettinson b c1707 d Flintham 1772 and
Sarah (Cartwright) b c 1719 d Flintham 1764

Married Flintham 27/4/1736

That's as far back as I can go - any more gets very tricky from this far away !

John (son of Joseph and Ann) moved to Lincs. The Brockton name has been used frequently in subsequent generations (Wadsley, etc) at least as recently for my first cousin (1950).

If anyone has any information at all, it would be most welcome.
