Abbreviations on Seaman's Record
« on: Thursday 19 October 06 17:31 BST (UK) »
I have just downloaded a Seaman's Record and there are a bunch of abbreviations that I do not understand.  At the end of the Remarks column it  says recommended for RFR', whatever RFR is.  Under the Character and Ability column, in the C column he has 'C' and in the A column he has 'E'.  What do these mean?

In the Badges column he has No. G1 granted 2.6.18 Deprived 2nd and G2nd granted 3.10.23.  I know that the numbers are the dates, of course, but what what does the rest mean?

Also in the Remarks column says New SC Written.  What would this have been?

The seaman joined as a boy in February 1914 and left as a Leading Signalman 12 years later.

Thanks for the help.
