Beckett Street Cemetary
« on: Thursday 19 October 06 21:45 BST (UK) »
Does anyone know if there any any indexes available for Beckett Street Cemetary? I have a George Henry Hickman who was a pauper/inmate at Leeds workhouse in 1871 who I suspect may have been buried there.

Thank you

Hi Suzi...

Check out this website , run by the friends of Beckett Street Cemetry..........

It gives quite a lot of contacts for people who can't visit.

Hope this helps

You can also buy a CD with details of burials and MIs at Beckett Street, as well as hundreds of thousands of burials from other cemeteries in and around Leeds.

Details are at http://www.yorkshireindexers.co.uk/forums/forum.php - scroll down to the link for Census Projects and Burials.

Hi Suzi.  There is an entry on the Beckett Street Cemetery for George H. Hickman.  Died 1885.  Entry No 55121.  No age is mentioned.
How old was your Mr Hickman on 1871 Census.  I have the CD with the burials.  If this is not the correct entry let me know and I will check it again for you.  There are quite a few entries for George H Hickman & George Henry Hickman

Hope this is the person you are looking for.

regards
Dee
