If you can get to Manchester Central Library you will be able to look up the address on the Electoral Register and the Trade/Street directories. Both are on microfilm. The Electoral Registers have  street directories which tell you which film you need and which district the street is in.

Did you look on both electoral rolls and trade/street directories or were they missing those years?
The only thing I can think of is to try Salford,I've heard people say they have a lot of Street /Trade directories,(most are Manchester and Salford) but I haven't been myself.
