Birth/Baptism - BRIDMAN & HE(A)LE
« on: Monday 23 October 06 12:48 BST (UK) »
Hi, new to the board

My request is - can anyone help with birth records for my G/G/Grandfather namely RICHARD BRIDMAN and his wife CHARLOTTE nee HELE or HEALE.

RICHARD could have been born around 1810 in the district of CHARLES THE MARTYR,PLYMOUTH and his wife CHARLOTTE HELE aound 1812.  Their marriage was in this parish in 1833 and they lived at 10 BRETONSIDE in PLYMOUTH in the following 1841 and 1851 census's.  I would be very grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction for any birth details ....

Thanks

Hi David

That would be extremely kind of you to offer your services, yes please, I would like to find out more, that is, before 1833.

As I have mentioned, I have everything regarding my G/Grandfather RICHARD GEORGE Bridgman (my findings are that BRIDGEMAN as from the 1841 census upto RICHARD GEORGE'S buriel records in 1919 there surname was BRIDGMAN )
as was my grandmother.

The IGI gives a record of RICHARD BRIDGMAN Snr was born 1810 Plymouth and his future wife Carlotte Hele 1812 in Plymouth Devon, although the IGI gives a conflicting entry as it mentions her name as Charlotte Fowls.  This name was possibly stated as her mother married a second time, on the 1851 census it gives mother-in-law's name as Elizabeth Fowles.

I hope this does not take up too much of your time, thanks again for your trouble to answer, as I live now on the tip of North Wales and to come down is not any easy task.

Cheers Fran
