can some one do a check on Mary Howe b. 1794 in West Wrattling . I don't know her parents names.
what I need is her marriage to John Plumb in West Wrattling in 1815 and whether she did in fact die in 1823 as my info suggests. If she did die then is there any record of John Plumb marrying some one else as there is 3 children born after 1823 to this couple.
There is a possibility that she died giving birth to James Plumb in 1823 and the last 3 kids are a completely different family but i would have thought not. 1 or maybe 2 but not 3 kids wrong. Can anybody shed some light on this one.

Check out the Cambs FHS website

http://www.cfhs.org.uk/Search.html

There are both burial and baptism indexes for the period 1801-1837

There are no baptisms in West Wratting for children of John and Mary after 1821, but there is a baptism of James in Fulbourn - only 5 miles from West Wratting - to John and Mary in 1823.

There is also a death in Fulbourn of Mary wife of John in 1823.

This appears to be John in 1851:
Ludlow Lane, Fulbourn (HO 107/1759 f.596B)
John Plumb Snr, H, M, 62, Ag Lab, ESS Helen Bumstead
Ann Plumb, Wf, M, 62, CAM Waterbeach
Susan Plumb, D, U, 30, CAM West Wratting

And in 1841:
Fulbourn (HO 107/67/3 f.16A)
John Plumb, 54, Ag Lab, Y
Ann Plumb, 53, Y
John Plumb, 25, Y

Hope this helps

Had a look on the actual census for john Plumb on the ref given by ruth The only information different is John is an ag lab and there is a George Preston age 17 living with them. Doesn't give an occupation for him and as you know the 1841 rarely gives relationships within a household. so he could be a family member or just some one lodging for a while. All the best Anjo
