What was dad John's occupation on the cert?

similarly 1871 - Ipswich is not used as a PoB for a female Manning born 1866 +/-2 - Father George ..

I can see an Ann E. and an Eleanor in Ipswich...

again, fathers occupation may help sort this !

Oh that's too bad (the birth place Spilsby is Edward's mother however).

Could you post all the details from the marriage cert, including everybody's occuaptions and witnesses' names?

Have you found Charles E Goode's birth reference?

Witness W Goode & Elizabeth Goode

I havn't found a birth reference yet

Well this isn't easy.

I have had a look through the complete birth index and the only possible births in the time frame 1863-1865 I could see were:

Sep 1863 Edward Goode - West Ham
Sep 1863 Charles Goode - Windsor
(can't remember exact quarter) Edward Charles Goode - Meriden
Mar 1864 Edward Charles Goode - Greenwich

No Charles Edward at all  :(

I haven't checked alternative spellings. Might be worth having another look.

In 1891, the above William is a Blacksmith...
