Many thanks for looking.  I'm off to see the parish record film for Bettws today.  Fingers crossed it will shed some light.  At least I can discount places to look for certain information, from the searches you've done.  It's much appreciated.

Hi Janice

The only new information I've managed to find today, after looking through the parish records for Bettws is that the witnesses to David and Gwenllian's marriage were Gwillim Treharne Jenkins and John David.  Maybe Gwillim is a relation to either my David or Gwenllian (since both had the same surname to begin with).  It might help us to make a link between our families.
