Tracey,

Sometimes I  haven't received a notification but check every couple of days now...... because I don't want to miss anyone with an interest in my names.

I was a bit down hearted a while back about a similar thing,  I knew this person was a close rellie, and in my main line....not on here though.  Everyone here encouraged me to keep plodding on, the next person I contacted came back with a Tree of 30,000 :o He was grateful for me contacting him as my line was the only one on his Tree that made it look like it had been badly pruned at 1819  ;D

What is one person, when so many others will be keen to contact you but your point it well made...it takes two minutes to answer someone that has taken the trouble to make contact.

Amber ;)

Hi Tracey

Does seem sad for RC - but I guess it happens everywhere.

I am confused as to comments re not being notified about  PMs - As soon as I come online, if I have a message I haven't read, I get a message about same - and at the top of the screen it always tells me if I have unread messages - Doesn't everyone have this?

Meanwhile -  good luck with the searching

Trish I have the same notifications, but just occasionally the pop up box doesn't come up and until I look to the top of the screen and see 141 messages 1 are new, I don't know that someone has PMed me.

Nevertheless it doesn't take long to find out.

I know exactly how you feel and you are quite right to have a moan. There is no excuse,  it is just bad manners. It infuriates me when people do not respond to e-mails. Something I have noticed recently on RC which saddens me, is somebody asking for help, the information they require is posted, and then nothing, no thank you, nothing. What makes it worse is when you notice that the person who posted the original request is actually ON LINE.  >:(
What is the matter with these people. It makes my blood boil.
Rant over ................ for now.

You are not alone, it makes my blood boil too.  Do you know recently I had a request on here responding to an unwanted certificate I had, (I had spent £7 on it), sent the certificate to the person (postage as well) and didn't even get a thank you let alone my money back (which I wasn't expecting actually).

I was brought up to be courteous, shame we are a minority.

I am wondering if this is the problem because I too am not getting any replies.

I thought I would try and send a message to myself via the Surname Interest Table to see if it is working.... Nothing to click on to send a message ??? to me.

I can see the facility listed on other peoples profiles but not on mine ???

I can't see anything that needs activating, and I do get messages via the Rootschat Board.

Help....Ambers

What a rude person Kerry...as you say makes your blood boil.

But what comes around goes around....
I was very tempted by someones rude attitude via another board but I remained courteous. Just to think I would have scanned a copy of the information he required had he been polite, ooh but it did cross my mind to ignore him.

As you say we pay £7.00 for the info, and don't get even a Thanks for sharing it from some people.

This has happened to me a few times. I was particularly peeved today to find that a person who had asked for info on a wedding in Scotland - and I'd used my SP units on  giving them the info, had then gone on and asked for info on another related surname on a different thread. No thanks. Nothing. I feel like outing him but I won't.

The vast majority of people on here are grateful and we all help one another, but these rude people let the side down badly.

Needless to say, he is on my avoid list.
