John McCann - b.1828 Meath, Ireland

Searching for ties to John McCann from Meath (East Meath) -- born 1828 -- arrived in New York ~1847-1849 -- could have been with a younger sister Margaret born ~1832. They settled in Upstate PA near Wilkes Barre. John married Ellen Hoy(in 1852)  dtr. of Patrick & Mary Hoy from Ireland and Margaret married Thomas Gibney also from "East Meath" the same year.  Can anyone tie these McCann's or Gibney's to a parish or townland in Meath -- have been unable to find their roots and would like to know if there is still family in that area.
