I think you meant in Cecelia was a widow in 1881 - therefore expecting Philip died btw 1871 and 1881.
I can't find deaths, but I have listed the Census as it helps to search if we know the full details.
Do you think 1841 below is him (ie: what is his father's name on marriage if you have it?
Have found Cecelia in 1861 (below) Looks like Philip was a Seaman for a time - so may explain why he can't be found 1851 and 1861. Have also found her in 1891 - not sure if you have these...
