Hi Dennis

Think the only way to go forward (backwards!) is to try to eliminate the ones on the list of baptisms that I gave you.
You would have to check to see if they appear in the Scottish censuses (Freecen) and follow them through.

PS - not sure where the Lesley came fom - it ain't me  ;D
PPS - I've just seen the details that you gave about James in the1851 - unfortunately it was buried in the quote from me abouve and obviously overlooked it  :(

Christian is in Berwick - The full details are above on a previous posting.

What does a Lesley sound like  ::) ::) ::)

Gadget

PS - found your James on the 1951 - his age is very feint but looks like 39. So we might be talking about an 1811-1812 birth

PPS - As you're new - a hint - it's best to make sure that you put your replies after the final [ /quote ]

otherwise you're message get's buried in the blue. We've all done it!

Dennis

I didn't get your last message. Well it's not on this topic thread and you haven't sent me a private message.

I'm not sure that you've got the hang of message posting.  Have a read of this topic:

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,161799.0.html

Briefly, instead of replying to any e-mail notification that you get, it's better to go straight to the message itself that is up on the Board in which you posted originally and click on the <Reply> button at the bottom of the last message.

But read the link first.

Yes Dennis that's how you do it  :)

You can quote but just try replying as you have just done until you  get the hang of it.

I've had a though that you might try to find if there are any stone mason apprenticeship records in Berwick or even the main masons in the town at the time. Christian was there in 1841 with her parents, so they might well have met there.
