Hi Helkar,
I have had a look through 1861 but not found them yet. They could possibly have been living in an area where the census is missing. This has happened to me.
What ages would the children be in 1861 and where were they born please?  I have often found a family by finding the children.

Cheers

Hi titch
Thanks for replying - I seemed to have forgotten most important info.   Thomas was born Rhuddlan/Flint - Ann Jones Prestatyn. m. Holywell 1842
Children  Thomas 1851, 10,   Elizabeth 1848, 13, Margaret 1846, 15, all named   Roberts,  born Prestatyn.   William Jones Roberts 1844, 16 again born Prestatyn.   On 1871/81 there seems to be another son Robert .   Theere are so many Thomas Roberts, Rhuddlan Flintshire you have to be so careful.
Thanks  helkar

Hi helkar,
Well I've had another look taking each child in turn with no success!

Were they in the same place in 1851 and 1871?

I have a full list of 'missing' places in flintshire 1861 census. So if you know about where they have been in other censuses it would help to see if they were indeed in the missing pieces.

A second son Robert could have been so named because the first Robert died.

I have searched the entire Wales census just incase.

Thanks Titch
I dont know much about the family places where they lived.   I know that Margaret got married in the Parish Church, Prestatyn in 1868 - she was mother of my grandma.  I'll check to see if she lived with her husband's family in 1861 - He was Thomas Edwards, c1847 from Meliden.  I have no info on the first Robert who you said died.
Possible that they went to live in Holywell  - they allegedly married there - some of the missing ones.
Thanks again for your trouble.
