I am researching the Cannell family of Isle of Man . All the information I have is of a William Cannell born Isle of Man 1811  He later married Alice  from scotland and had children George   William   Ann   Johanna and Alice all born in whitehaven.. If any one has any links please contact me

you have at least 8 in the 1810-1812 time frame - Whitehaven was a common place for Manx to emigrate to (work in mines & in shipping) - I'd tend to look at those from Maughold/Ramsey area first as this part had the slightly closer link but he could be from anywhere.  The ancestral home of Cannells is Kirk Michael

I am trying to trace the parents of a Catherine Cannell, who I think married a Robert Clague but I have no date of the marriage, I know they had one son a John Clague b.1816/17 at Braddon, they seem to be quite elusive the Cannell's, can anyone help

probably m robt cannel Braddan 1810-11-03 - large family
in 1841census in Lonan with husb farmer at Ballaquark - age 54 which + braddan marriage suggests she was eldest child of thomas clague + isabel cannel bapt Bra 1786-04-09

I have Cannell as her maiden name she married a Robert Clague, with a son John.

sorry just swop clague + cannell in prev message in both families !  - I have cath cannel (d/o thos cannel + isobel clague) m robert clague in Lonan in 1841 - Lonan dist 4 page 11
