I wonder if there is any way that I can find out where Margaret Tinkler was living prior to her execution in Durham in 1781. Any ideas?

Best bet might be to try to find an account of the trial in the local press. That should have the town or village at the very least and you may get further clues from details of witnesses, etc.

Wouldn't know where to direct you towards in terms of finding info though - Durham county records office is a possibility as are larger libraries in the county.

Hello Nick. Have tried Durham archives without any luck. I shall have to try the
newspaper as suggested. Thanks, Adamand
