Michael Dogherty and Ellen Jones Sunderland area

Any info on Michael Dogherty/Docherty in the 1841/1851 census. He was aged 40 from Ireland and a widower with a son called Patrick (my great grandfather) who was born in Newcastle on the 1861 Bishopwearmouth census, but I can't find any info on Michael before then.

Ellen Jones appears on the 1861 Sunderland census aged 26 from Ireland living with Mary Meighan her sister, Margaret Meighan her niece and her daughter Annie Jones aged 5(my great grandmother).  I can't find any info for her on the 1851,1841 census.  There is a problem with the 1861 census as I have seen Ellen's d.o.b c1841 and her birth varies between cheshire, Ireland and Sunderland. I have not found any record of a marriage for her, the d.o.b for Annie sounds about right as all other census returns put her around 1856.

I believe Annie and Patrick married around May 1876 at St Patrick's Sunderland
