Irish gaelic
« on: Sunday 05 November 06 00:16 GMT (UK) »
Is there an Irish Gaelic spelling for the surname of Hudson that was Anglicized from an Irish name?  If so, how would it be spelled in Irish.  It may be from the County Cork area.  Tough request, I know.  Thanks!

Hello Spike, according to Edward MacLysacht`s `Surnames of Ireland`Hudson is an English name introduced to Ireland in the 17th century and most numerous in the Dublin area. However if you wished to use a close Irish Gaelic equivalent I think the closest would be o` hUada.
