Where is Yardley?

Hi

On Friday I was at HALS looking for my Freeman ancestors in Meesden. It was getting late & I was running out of time and was allowed to photocopy some pages that had been extracted from the Parish Marriage Registers.

On it is the marriage of Jn. Freeman (Yardley) to My. Cooper on 1 November 1828.

Can anyone tell me where Yardley is? I'm guessing it's close by to Meesden and still in Hertfordshire.

There is a Yardley in Worcestershire, it is sandwiched between Solihull and Birmingham.

I've just been told it's also known as Ardeley, which is indeed in Hertfordshire.
