The only one I have for certain is Jane Quayle, she is on the census 1881 with her married name Newby. Census place Liverpool.

I have found my Jane Quayle I think after trawling through the parishes.
It says Jane Quayle christening 16th August 1818 St Mathews Douglas
Father Wm Quayle
Mother Frances White
It also says it's extracted does that mean it is accurate?
kind regards
Norma

Yes - 'extracted' from the original register - accurate as the Transcribers could be  ... overall it should be fine !

probably worth googling to see if other transcriptions - maybe a Family History Soc - are online ?

Also check where the originals are - might be that the authorities offer a search service ?

Manx parish regs are unlike English in that in 1910/11 they were copied by the civil authorities (as civil reg only started in 1877) - these official copies have been filmed by the Mormons and can be borrowed - use www.manxnotebook.com look up genealogy and then LDS film numbers.
The IGI transcription of these registers is very mixed - some parishes were done well others a complete mess - various correction pages were then added (you can tell the correction pages as they contain many names) however to compound the errors the Island was home to some early influential mormons and thus their attempts at genealogy have been used to overwrite the original transcriptions.
You could also try the gen board at http://www.isle-of-man.com/cgi-bin/interests/genealogy/bulletin/index.pl?noframes;
