Hi rthom

Thanks for your good wishes much appreciated also.

1st time on for a couple of days.

I am truly sorry that I did not feel I could break the N.R.O. copyright rule by passing
on the photograph of "The Boot Inn".

I know you have it know and are thrilled.

Sandy

Hi RThom
I have a photo of my great grandfather George Roddis outside the boot inn with his name above the door. At this stage I have no idea what date it was taken.
I am just starting to research my family tree so a real beginner at this, and chat rooms.
If you are interested, I could send you a scanned copy of it.

RPeter

Hello rthom

I got your email address. In fact my great grandfathers name was William Roddis also known as Topper Roddis coz he wore a top hat. I imagine that the photo would have been taken when he took over the pub. I believe he was born in 1818 and he looks to be about 30 years old in the photo so I am guessing the photo was taken approx 1850.

I was hoping somebody might be able to tell me more about him.

I will send the photo scan to your email address.

Regards RPeter

Hello, I am excited to have come across  this rather old thread as I am researching William Roddis (1841-1903) who was licencee of the Boot Inn, College Street Northampton (1898, 1903 on the list of licencees posted in this thread). I am a genealogy hobbyist currently working to improve William's profile on WikiTree (a free global family tree/genealogy collaboration site) https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Roddis-29. I would be most grateful if you have any photograph's of William or the Boot Inn that I could use on WikiTree (I would of course give appropriate accreditation).

There is a photo on a group I am in, no copyright noted though.

Maybe someone has a better image.  William Roddis has his hands folded in front of him.
