I just wanted to tie up the loose ends on this subject.

The Wireless Training Centre for the Royal Engineers in this instance was at Norton Barracks, near Worcester (home of the Royal Worcestershire Regiment). Somerton Cemetery is located in a road called Behind Berry in Somerton and I now have photos of George's gravestone thanks to Heather.

The Somerton Town Council passed my query onto a local archivist who was able to give me a lot of info on George which answered my remaining questions.

Thanks to all for their contributions on this puzzle! It's finally been solved!

Merry Christmas!  :)
