Heather:-- does your Notts FHS index cover Shardlow, I think part of it is in Nottinghamshire. If so does it show the birth of John Woollett in Sept quarter of 1839?

A birth registered in Shardlow district could have been in a number of parishes spanning Notts and Derbyshire (including Stapleford) ...and only some of those parishes which come under Nottinghamshire are included on the Notts FHS CD. The parish of Shardlow itself is in Derbyshire.

All I can say is, the baptism transcriptions for Stapleford don't show a John Woolett - or similar - baptised around that time.
