UNSWORTH Richard & Ellen

I am researching Unsworths and would be very glad to hear from anyone connected to Richard Unsworth who married Ellen Parkinson in 1831 at St John's, Preston. Ellen died 1894 in Carnforth, but to date have not been able to find out anything about Richard, who was a Supt of Works & Railway Contractor.  Two sons Richard & Henry migrated to Australia with an 11 year old Joseph Unsworth (possibly a brother?).
Richard the father does not seem to appear in any census with the family, possibly because of his job? Richard & Ellen's daughter Isabella married William Kellett (Railway Engine Driver)and lived in Carnforth.

are those five entries yours on the I.G.I more or less the same. If not Richard was born in 1818 Bolton-le.-Moors Lancs
you can look up his birth and find the name of his father.

Thank you for your response Celia, however this Richard Unsworth is not the right one - born in 1818 he would have only been aged 13 when he married Ellen Parkinson in 1831, Kamelie

I do wish they wouldnt allow entries with no source. It messes up other peoples trees.

Certainly does! I tend to only use the IGI as a guide and then try to check out elsewhere, wherever possible. I agree with you that entries should not be accepted without a "checkable" source. Kamelie
