Birth look up advice please COMPLETED
« on: Saturday 11 November 06 14:53 GMT (UK) »
Hi  :D
Can anyone help me please?

I have found the marriage of my ggggg grandparents.
James Mcaullay (McAulay) & Catherine MCUIL (McColl) as stated on SP site.
They were married 2th Jan 1815.

I would really like to try and find their births, to find their parents.
I know Catherine was born in Kilmaronock, Dunbarton (near Bonhill area)
Can anyone advise me to look?

Thank you

HI Pettsy

To stop people duplicating searches, I've put a link here to your post in the Stirling board: www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,189463.new.html#new

Hi Monica,

Thank you.
I was advised to start a new post in Dunbarton, as I put my first in Stirling.
And Kilmaronock is in Dunbarton, silly me  :-\

Don't worry, it happens.

The reason I put the link up into the Stirling board for the other post is that people can then see what's already been found so they don't start from the begining and then find it's already been done! Hopefully then any new info is additional rather than the same.

Regards.

Hello Monica,

Thank you.

I have just copied everything down from the IGI.
Lots of info to check out.
I would think they are all related.

I wonder it the early MCUIL'S were the ones from Stirling?

Could be, given the earlier dates in Stirling. You'd have to follow through to make the connections. Not that many entries all around, you probably need to look at all the other possible variants/origins of the name.
