SHEPHERDS in Newport
« on: Sunday 12 November 06 11:38 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to trace Charles and Walter Shepherd born in 1890s and who went to war in the 14-18 great war I believe they sustained injuries and we think Charles died in 1934 but cant find any trace of Walter although we found that Walter was married to Agnes Burgess and Charles was wed to M. Shakespear .My wife is has heard lots of stories about these two and is very curious to find out the truth as regards their war record .Somebody out there must know something !!!!!
My email is not working sorry

FreeBMD has this entry:

Marriages Dec 1908
BURGESS    Agnes
SHEPHERD   Walter Richard

STANWORTH   Rachel
WRIGHT    John
Newport, Sh. 6a 1569

That would match this census entry for 1901:

For War records try the Armed Forces Board - searching the National Archives site, you may be able to find a Medal Card and/or a Silver War Badge if they were discharged injured ....
