Can anyone advise if divorces tool place in the UK around the 1890's or ??

Yes. They were expensive to obtain and usually only the wealthy could afford it. Others "lived in sin" or committed bigamy, a very common Victorian offence.
Up to 1857 divorces could only be obtained by an Act of Parliament, after that in the Courts.
Southern or Southan [Hereford , Monmouthshire & Glos], Jenkins, Meredith and Morgan [Monmouthshire and Glos.], Murrill, Damary, Damry, Ray, Lawrence [all Middx. & London], Nethway from Kenn or Yatton. Also Riley and Lyons in South Africa and Riley from St. Helena.
