Samuel George Cullen. Completed.
« on: Tuesday 14 November 06 07:19 GMT (UK) »
I am searching for the birth of Samuel George Cullen. He was the first child of George Cullen and Elizabeth Bissell. They were married in Brussels 9.6.1894.
A sister was born in England in 1898

I have his memorial card, which gives his death as 31.1.53 aged 57 so birth would have been 1895/96.

He is not with the family on the 1901 census, but there is a 6yr old Samuel in Hospital.

There is a Samuel Edward Cullen born about 1894 but he belongs to another family.

Any help would appreciated

Hi celia

I am very pleased you came back to it.  That could well be it, the date fits very well. His Grandfather and Ggrandfather were also George, so he could have been registered as George. My father, two children later was George!! The Cullum could easily have been a transcription error.

Three generations of my ancestors were domestic coachmen who had frequent moves.

The family were in London, Egerton Mews in 1901, His sister was born in London, Kensington.

I have no idea where they were between 1894 and 1901. They could easily have been in Kent.

I will let you know how I get on.

Thank you.

Hello Celia

I have just been checking my records. Sorry I didn't contact you at the time.

I did write to the Records Office with all the details I had. Unfortunately no luck. Another name added to my brick walls I'm afraid.

Thanks for your interest.
