Banks family of Carsington/Brassington area
« on: Wednesday 15 November 06 13:53 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I am trying to find details of the family (parents) of a James Banks, born about 1795 (from memory) apparently in Carsington.  I haven't been able to find so far a parish register of this though.  I have found parish register records of possible siblings though.

I believe his fatherwas William Banks, although I have not found any strong evidence of this and also have not found any parish records of William's marriage there either.  William's wife was Anne..........

Regards, Christine.

Hi there

I found a parish register transcription on line for Carsington, no trace of Jame's baptism, but there is a record of the marriage of William Banks and Ann Bridges 20 Feb 1786 (this is the link to the website http://www.dfhs.org.uk/cars/marriage.htm )

The main website for all Carsington parish records is:http://www.dfhs.org.uk/cars/carsmain.htm, and there are lots of children baptised with parents William & Anne. Good luck with your research

Thanks for that Shirl.  That will help a bit :)

I guess it's always possible that James was born in a different parish....
