Woodward of Woodstock and Bicester
« on: Wednesday 15 November 06 15:16 GMT (UK) »
Hi!

I wonder if anyone historians have any  information on a Thomas Woodward (d. 1668) who inherited land from his brother-in-law in Woodstock in 1638. Was this Thomas Woodward the same Thomas who issued tradesman's tokens in Woodstock and Bicester in the 1650's and was variously called a mercer and grocer?

There is also a John Woodward who matriculated as an apothecary in Oxford on 24 April 1668 who is recorded as the son of Thomas Woodward of Woodstock.

Did Thomas and John Woodward of Woodstock have any relationship to a Thomas Woodward in Bicester whose son James was baptized there on 27 May 1694? Is there any connections?

Thanks
