Hi Biker,
Thankyou for the directions, I've located where Newcastle Upon Tyne is.
I'm not sure where to go with this now.  I seem to have 2 possibilties for Georgina.  The one that you sent with N? Castle.   The fact that is so similar to Newcastle is bothering me a bit.  Is my friend I'm helping getting muddled up?
Another Georgina Henderson born Dec Q 1898 Morpeth Co. Durham Northumberland also fits.  Morpeth is close to Newcastle Upon Tyne.  There is also a Georgina Henderson aged 20, who died in the same Q, same place. Maybe this is mother and daughter?  Is this why my friend I am trying to help says she never knew any of her mother's family.
Where is the 2nd Georgina b. Morpeth on the 1901 Census?
Also, is there a Robert Henderson, the father Georgina mentions on her marriage cert.,  on the 1901 Census fitting in with any of these places?
Lots of unanswered questions, but thanks for your interest - Sashar

I have just obtained the birth certificate of Georgina Henderson.   She was born, as presumed, on the 2nd November, 1898 at Cambois Bedlington in the County of Northumberland.
The birth was registered 11.11.1898 by Robert Henderson, occupier, Cambois Bedlington.  No relationship given.
Mother was Georgina Henderson, deceased, Dometic Servant.
No father's name or occupation.
Can I ask once again with this new information, if Georgina fits in anywhere in the 1901 Census or will this info lead backwards to positively ID Georgina's family.
When Georgina m. Edward Albert Cartwright on 14.5.1923, at St Lukes, Bermondsey, London, she listed her father as Robert Henderson, Miner.
Thankyou to all those who have persistently helped me with this - Sashar

On the 1901 Census of England site, there is a Georgina Henderson, who has the same birthplace Cambois Bedlington, but she is aged 22 -  has there been a mistake and it should be Georgina aged 2.
I can't access the Census but thought if someone could have a look it might prove interesting.
Thanks,  Sashar

Hi Sashar

That's wonderful that the birth certificate matches the date you had :)

You have a very narrow window for the death of Georgina's mother so I would hope that you could find her death certificate quite easily.  Perhaps her age/address/informant will lead you to her origins.

Hi Casalguidi,
Yes, I'm pretty sure I now have Georgina's death at Morpeth, aged 20, 10b  269.  I wasn't sure what the death certificate would show, but I hope it has the details you mentioned.
I've just had a look at LDS 1881 Census and there is a Georgina there, age fits being 2 at that stage, father Robert, brother Robert so the Robert name is prevalent, and both Roberts are Miners.   The 1881 Census Georgina is born Bedlington Northumberland.  The Georgina I found in 1901 was born Cambois Bedlington.   If I can get a view of the 1901 Census I think this would be a connection.  I'm guessing that either Georgina's grandfather or Uncle Robert, may have brought baby Georgina up.

Hi Sashar

Yes, death certificates can be a bit "iffy" with the information they contain, the following is a useful guideline http://www.dixons.clara.co.uk/Certificates/deaths.htm

Sashar,
Are you still researching into the Cartwrights and Hendersons. My mother is the daughter of the Albert Cartwight I think you are referring to. I know her sister Alice emigrated to Australia. Would be interested to know who the research is for, and what happened to Alice.
