Clinton/Barnes - Manchester
« on: Thursday 16 November 06 13:21 GMT (UK) »
Ada Clinton b1882 in Salford.  Married Alfred Barnes in 1902 in Manchester.

Having problems finding a death for Ada Barnes but then again she could have remarried.

I have a death certificate for Alfred Barnes (d1934) and the informant was his daughter, Edith Barnes at an address in Haslingden.

If anyone is able to help or recognises any of the above info, I would love to hear from you.

Hi
Hi

Noted details on Alfred Barnes when researching my family tree. Details seem very close to my resaerch data!

Apparently related by marraige to an Alfred Barnes. A distant relative (second cousin of my grandfather) William Fitzmaurice from Halifax in Yorkshire married a Martha Barnes a sister of Alfred Barnes. Regardless of the relationship what may be of added interest to you, if not noted already, is that Alfred, wife and children were living with William Fitzmaurice and family in Manchester area as alluded to in 1911 census!!

Alfred was noted as a musician and what may assist in your Death record research is that (a) his wife is noted as Adah Eliza rather than just Ada and (b) he had three recorded children, George Albert, Catherine Margaret and Betty at that time. I hope that it may assist your 20th century research.

I can share more details if interested or indeed would be interested to see what additional detail you may have on the Fitzmaurice/Barnes connection if noted by you previously. It is plausible that there are family records or even pictures of these family unit. What may assist your direct research on Adah may even be birth or marraige records and associated sponsors/witnesses of Alfred, Adah and children.

I have Manchester connections relative to late 19th century and 20th century. Family names primarly relate to Morris and McLaughlin with associated connections to Fitzmaurice, Neary(Nary) and Dyer.

Kind regards
