Birth Registration for Joseph Rhodes

Hunslet registration District  Q1 1884  Volume 9b Page 310

That would fit with Beeston, Leeds

I have found a tree on which shows the Rhodes family you allude to.  Parents Geoorge and Julia, with brothers George,Walter and Albert, and sister s Clara and Ann Elizabeth

It states Joseph married 1927 and died 1978 - both Ontario, Canada.

This isn't a source record, but it looks like the tree owner might have teh source records.  PM me for more information.

Hi Pat

I have just seen you message you left on my Jessie Smith certificate thread.  Unfortunately my Rhoades family comes from Lincolnshire back to the 1600s and to Sussex in the mid 1850s so as far as I know there is no link with Yorkshire.  The name Rhodes/Rhoades/Roads seems very common in that area.

Anyway I have found another two possible births for Joseph for the June quarter of 1884

Joseph District Bradford, Volume 9b, page 22
Joseph District Keighley, Volume 9a 177

I don't Yorkshire at all, and hopefully someone who knows the area will know if Leeds is anywhere near either of these two districts.

Bradford is "next door" to Leeds (to the west), but Keighley is north of but adjacent to  Bradford and therefore a bit farther away.  But you could float down the River Aire from Keighley to Leeds.
