Then the most likely scenario is that the 1922 marriage has given a bride's grandfather as her father, but not the grandfather's occupation, NOR her step-father's occupation.

So that leads one to wonder if the unknown father was indeed a dentist.

Get the trade directories out I guess....

I think the trade directories may be one route.


There are some online trade directories for 1900 Kirkdale and there are some dentists listed.  http://www.historicaldirectories.org/ so may be worth a browse.

hello biker and pauline i phoned my brother and the name orrell was mentioned i looked on the 1901 census but there wasnt any dentists of that name.thanks anyway,what church could there be a christening near kirkdale they were church of england could the fathers name be on that? scouser
