Researching  the  family  of  James  Harkness  C1780,  Gretna
Family  tree  Outline  As  follows:
James  Harkness  C1780  married  Agnes  Bell
James  Harkness  C1803,  Gretna,  married  Janet  Brown
James  Harkness  24  Apr  1824,  Gretna, married  Isabella  Baird
Janet  Harkness  6  Oct  1871,  Gretna,  married  George  Jardine

James  1  was  a  Farm  Servant,   James  2  then  3  owned  a  Blacksmiths at  Headlesscross,  Gretna.

Does  this  match  anyones  tree?,  any  information  on  earlier  family  members  will  be  particuarly  welcome.

I have a Janet Harkness born Graitney/Gretna about 1770 married to James Mitchell. Does this tie up with anyof yours?

in gretna old parish church graveyard     thomasina daughter of james harkness in headless cross who died 13th may 1845 aged 9 years    and elizabeth his daughter who died 13th september 1846 aged 6 months  and margaret who died at east coast abbeyholm 17th november 1848 age 19 years and is interred there     post 1855 inscriptions   csc
