Hi
Just been reading with interest this thread.  I have a Charles Edwin Tranter marrying into one of my wife's lines.  I only have sketchy details:
Born Knowsley Victoria 21 Sept 1880.  He married Catherine Ann Manton (unknown date) first child James Lewis born 1906 at Heathcote Victoria.

Is there a chance that this Tranter is connected to the family being discussed hear?

Bob

hello  there Bob

with  reference  to  "your" tranters a  little  further for you

Georgina Maria Tranter died aged 86 Box Hill 1943/1070
father Richard Co  mother Mary Jane Edgecombe

possible death for James

James Tranter died aged 71  at Heathcote 1922/9514
parents Benj Dollas Tranter  and Elizabeth Ann Manly

Hi Michael

Re Robert Carson

I have absolutely no idea about Robert Carson, except that he is listed on the passenger list when the Tranter family came to South Australia.

Later, Robert Carson married here in South Australia.

Hope that helps a bit.

Hello  there Michael

If  you  obtain Helena's death  certificate  from  NSW (which  you  can  order  on line  for  about$25  or  even  cheaper frm a  transcription  agency).

it  does  give  her  parents  names  and  place of birth  and  how  long  in  the colonies

this  information  is  as  only  good  as  the persons knowledge who  is  giving  it

However  it  is  usually a  very good  source  of  info

regards jenn
