Looking for the Burley family
« on: Monday 20 November 06 08:45 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for the Burley family.   Hannah Burley was baptised on 4 July 1824 at Tadcaster, Yorks (IGI).  Her father was listed on the IGI record as Paul Burley and wife Elizabeth.

Any more information on the Burley family would be much appreciated.

thanks, marp

Marp,

A quick look on Familysearch suggests that Paul Burley married Elizabeth Burn at All Saints Pavement and St. Peter the Little, York, on 10 January, 1805.

Children I can spot instantly are: William, b 14 February 1805, bapt. 21 February at the same church, and Robert, bapt. 26 Mar 1820 in Tadcaster.

There's nothing in between, so they may have been living elsewhere during these years.

Nor can I instantly see a baptism for either of the parents, although there other Burleys in York in the latter part of the 18th. century.

Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks for this Jon.  I checked with IGI and it does seem to fit.  My ancester Hannah was baptised 4 July 1824 so perhaps there was simply a very large gap between children.

Thanks again,

marp
