Reuben SMITH of Leeds

I am trying to find out when Reuben SMITH died. (he was born in 1863)

According to a cousin, he drowned himself in Roundhay Park Lake, Leeds.
He was still alive in 1925, as he was the informant for his wife's death.
I can't find any relevant entries in the GRO deaths index where the place/age would match.  He lived in the Meanwood area of Leeds.

I would be grateful to hear from anyone who might be able to provide any relevant information.
