Could someone please check the 1841-1871 census for Daniel Shorter born 1822 in Straton Wiltshire.

2 candidates 1871 - Sussex & Kent .... not trying for mistrans ...

That's him in 1861, married to Sarah, not sure when Sarah died but in 1881 he is married to Martha. Are there any children in either census.

It could possibly be him in 1851, as the occupation certainly fits, I wasn't aware that he could have been married three times but anything is possible I haven't been able to find a marriage for him to Sarah although I have found her death and Daniel's  marriage to  Martha.  Will check to see what I can find out about Elizabeth and try to tie this altogether thanks for your help.

Err ... I haven 't finally found him in 1851   
There are 2 shoemakers from Wiltshire around, and the 1851 one is the other one, unfortunately.

Sorry got the years mixed up for a minute there, must be too early in the morning, so its possible he was married 3 times will check it all out anyway thanks.
