Is your Location in your Profile ?

If you have not - please consider filling in your location within your Rootschat Profile Information  :D

Just click on profile at the top of this page (next to Search Rootschat) to get you to your profile and then in "Modify Profile" on the menu on the left click "RootsChat Profile Information" to take you to your own Profile, look for Location and please fill in, as you wish, continent would do !

Then as we wish to respond to a specific request we can "click" on the persons name, see where they are from and make the response more personal  ;)

I agree - it's useful to know where people are from. I've felt an idiot in the past, explaining some piece of Welsh geography only to find that the poster lives a lot nearer to the place than I do :)

Hi Wendi,  :)

Mission accomplished!!
I quite agree Gareth, in an ideal world we would check the profile  ..  ..  Only I rarely do!  :-\
For some reason though with yours I didn't have to, wonder why?

Must agree with Gareth - nothing like suggesting someone visit the NSW Sydney archives when they live in Scotland  :D - I initially only put the country, but added the state when I found it was often very  useful knowing which state/county other researchers came from.

I so agree with you Trish, I once suggested to someone who emailed me from my website for information on a part of my family, that they visit the Surrey History Centre.

The answer came back, I'm in California!!!  :o :o So when emailing people now I always just add where I am from, it really helps.
