Hi Martha

I've just re-read the posts on this one, and realised that I'm not clear what you are trying to find  from the subsequent posts :P Is it the marriage of Alexander only? Do you know for certain whether he did get married and have children?

This looks like Alexander with father Hugh in the 1881 Census:

Hugh McFarlane    48, shipmaster, b. Kilfinichen G, Argyleshire
Alexander McFarlane 23, seaman, b. Assynt
John McFarlane    46, brother, seaman - retired, b. Kilfinichen G, Argyleshire
Anabella McLeod 21, servant
John Turner 19, nephew, seaman, b. Glasgow

Address:Lochinver To Inverkirkaig, Assynt

Regards.

Monica

Hi Monica,

That is the same census I worked from. Did you see the death on SP. I think that is what was originally asked for any marrage to anyone. I do not think he married. I think his family may have ran a ferry or fishing boat,  as address is  , Lochinver to Inverkirkaig, Assynt.

Hi Tom

I haven't (as I am sure you have looked also) been able to find an entry for Alexander on the 1891 index. So that death entry for an Alexander that you have found could well be his.

Regards.

Monica  :)
