Can anyone help please?
I am trying to trace the birth/baptism of Elizabeth Kell b.c.1790. I have checked the Scottish Border counties.
I believe her husband, John Tate (b.c.1794) was born at Hawick.
It could be possible that Elizabeth was born in an English parish adjacent to the border counties.

The couple married 1.6.1815 at Bowden, ROX .
A daughter Elizabeth was born 3.3.1816 at Shawburn (ROX) and son John 13.1.1818 at Eastfield, also ROX..
The family emigrated to Australia in 1818.

The Kell family inhabited Wall township as far back as record goes. Not very far in the Borders, the 1538 Muster lists in fact.
