PRE 1837 records for penselwood and yarlington -COMPLETED WITH THANKS
« on: Monday 27 November 06 17:10 GMT (UK) »
My family searches I know of  PITMAN at Yarlington [Charles Pitman b 1829 -father not sure ?] and  Willis at Penselwood[ Jane Willis B1835 and father William Willis B 1878]. I know these places are near Wincanton but where are they most likely to have married. Both Charles and Jane moved to Wales to the colliers. Any information census or otherwise welcomed.
Thankyou.

Hello,

Although I would have normally said that Charles and Jane would have married at either Penselwood or Yarlington, it appears that they may have married in Wales in Sep 1857,  Merthyr Tyd fil District, Vol11a, Page 427. There eldest son, Henry was born at Penselwood according to the 1871 census in 1857/58 so I can't be sure if this is the correct marriage.

Thanyou. The information does match with what I know from my late dad. I just wondered where in the area they would have married.
