St James?
« on: Tuesday 28 November 06 14:40 GMT (UK) »
I was looking at microfiches of marriages banns and I came across the one for my great great grandparents. According to the microfiche, it says- "James McKenna, of St James and Agnes Banister of Leyland". As far as I know, James was born in Liverpool, according to the 1881 and 1891 censuses. Is St James a place in Liverpool, Lancashire or elsewhere? Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for that.

Could someone look in the 1851 census for a McKenna family in the Toxteth area, especially with a Robert as head of the family, please? Thanks.

Thanks for the information. According to the marriage certificate, his father was Robert and he was deceased by the time of the marriage in early 1873.
